Biography
Her Experience
Dr Janice Kiem is an experienced General Practitioner with over 15 years’ experience practicing medicine in a wide variety of settings. Her focus within her own practice is caring for women across all stages of life, with a particular interest in metabolic health, weight management, and menopause. She is caring and comprehensive, thoroughly exploring the experiences, needs, and goals of each and every patient as they together develop personalised treatment plans.
Dr Janice graduated from Griffith University Medical school in 2010, subsequently attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has also obtained post-graduate qualifications in Children’s Health (University of Sydney) and holds the Diploma of Women’s Health through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists. She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society (AMS), ANZMOSS (Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society), ANZOS (Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society) and has undertaken World Obesity SCOPE training.
Dr Janice enjoys ‘slow medicine’ – the unique ability to spend longer with each patient during consultation, allowing her to fully explore past experiences, present concerns, and to then develop holistic, person-centred goals for the future. She remains passionate about advocating for better health for everyone, but especially for women as they transition through perimenopause, menopause and beyond.
